Premiums

Annual premiums are assessed in three installments during the academic year for a period of coverage beginning on September 1st and ending on August 31st. These charges are added to Autumn, Winter, and Spring tuition bills. Students and dependents who are eligible to begin enrollment in the Winter or Spring quarters, or who are eligible only in Autumn and Spring quarters but not in Winter, will be charged a Summer quarter premium.


The premiums for the 2009-2010 plan year are as follows:

Previous premiums for Student Health Insurance:
In 2005-06, the Basic plan premium was $1689 and the Advantage plan premium was $2508
In 2006-07, the Basic plan premium was $1749 and the Advantage plan premium was $2595
In 2007-08, the Basic plan premium was $1770 and the Advantage plan premium was $2724
In 2008-09, the Basic plan premium was $1845 and the Advantage plan premium was $2811


*Please note that dependents 14 years of age and older who enroll in the U-SHIP insurance plan will also need to pay the Student Life Fee.  The benefits offered by the insurance (U-SHIP) are designed to compliment the services provided at the SCC (under the Student Life Fee), which means individuals need to enroll in both to recieve the full package of health care services.
