University Policy Regarding Health Insurance
Health insurance coverage is mandatory for all eligible students. During the time you are registered at the University, you are required to enroll in the U-SHIP Basic or Prescription Advantage coverage, or waive enrollment by providing evidence that you have health insurance coverage that is comparable. Click here to evaluate whether your insurance is comparable to U-SHIP.
Unless you make a U-SHIP coverage selection or waive U-SHIP enrollment during the enrollment period, you will be automatically enrolled in U-SHIP Basic coverage and the Office of the Bursar will bill you for the premium payments of $2,025 for the entire 2009-10 plan year (September 1 - August 31). Every eligible student must complete the enrollment/waiver process each year to ensure uninterrupted service at the preferred level of coverage. Dependents are not automatically enrolled in U-SHIP Basic coverage. You must request that they be added to the policy each year. For Autumn Quarter 2009 the enrollment period ends at 5:00pm on Friday, October 9th.*
Your insurance selection on file with the University will remain effective until August 31, 2010. To view your current insurance selection, login to cMore.
*Students approved to register as a student after the insurance enrollment deadline must submit an insurance enrollment/waiver application at the time of registration. Failure to do so will result in automatic enrollment into U-SHIP Basic coverage.
